Diving is one of the most popular passions of visitors to San Carlos , whether you're a first-timer or a veteran. Crystal clear and constantly calm waters provide an incredible showcase for more than 800 species of maritime life. Two artificial reefs, a sunken ferry and several smaller wrecks make the San Carlos diving areas an ideal place to learn and visit recurrently.
Diving in the Sea of Cortez ( Gulf of California ) is nothing short of spectacular. Summer water temperatures can reach well into the 80's and visibility can be 100' or more.
The Sea of Cortez is known for its incredibly diverse marine life and those chance encounters with Whales, Mantas, Hammer Head Sharks and Sea Lions are always possible. The water is temperate tropical (80 degrees) during the summer months and upper 50's to low 60 's in the winter months. The visibility can range from 30' to over 100' around San Pedro Island .

Gary 's has seven specially designed 40' boats, two of them are very fast boats that can travel to Seal Island in about an hour, the Cortez Sun and the Cortez Explorer. In fact, the Explorer is the largest, most powerful and fastest charter boat in San Carlos . All boats have first aid and oxygen, water, ice, coffee, Diet Coke and fresh fish tacos are made onboard.
